SCHAUMBURG, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 26, 2014–Sparton Corporation (NYSE: SPA), an industry leader in the design and manufacture of highly-complex electronic and electromechanical devices, was recognized for their outstanding performance as a supplier to Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems(IDS) at the Supplier Excellence Conference held in Waltham, Massachusetts on June 4, 2014.

Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business instituted the annual Supplier Excellence Awards program to recognize suppliers who have provided outstanding service and partnership in exceeding customer requirements. Award candidates are judged on certain criteria, including overall quality, on-time delivery and demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement. A 5-Star recognition is the highest level of recognition the Integrated Defense Systems business supplier can achieve for excellence in quality and performance, and Sparton was one of 15 companies selected.

Sparton’s Plaistow, NH facility supplies sub-assemblies for the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System, Zumwalt Class Destroyer, and THAAD Radar Systems programs.

“We are honored to have received this prestigious award again this year. Raytheon is an important part of our nation’s security and we are proud to be a contributor to a service so vital to the American public,” said Jamie Shaddix, Group Vice-President Mil/Aero Manufacturing Services for Sparton Corporation.

“I would like to congratulate our entire workforce on this award. Without the dedication and attention to detail from each and every employee, receiving a 100% score on these challenging metrics would be unthinkable. This award exemplifies the Sparton values and demonstrates the capabilities of our world-class production system,” he added.
