Sparton’s Acquisition of KEP Marine

I am pleased to announce that Aydin Displays, a Sparton Company, has completed the acquisition of KEP Marine (www.kepmarine.com). We are extremely excited to add to our ruggedized display technology product offerings and extend our capabilities more deeply into commercial and industrial display end markets.

A key component of our strategic vision is to realize synergistic acquisition opportunities that add value to our core portfolio of products and services. This acquisition of KEP Marine aligns precisely with this vision and presents the opportunity to provide enhanced customer value. KEP Marine bolsters an already robust category of display technology offerings through our Aydin Displays brand (www.aydindisplays.com). The combination will result in fluid end-market collaboration and enhanced emphasis on product development and customer service.

Over the coming months we will be working through a detailed integration process. The current KEP Marine operations will be consolidated and combined with our Aydin Displays business in Birdsboro, PA. As we embark on this process, we are resolute in our promise to maintain regular communication and a wholesale commitment to ensure no disruption to our customers’ business.

We look forward to a prosperous future and ongoing mutually beneficial relationship with our combined customers.

Sincerely,

cary-wood-sig

Cary Wood, President and CEO

Sparton Corporation

I am not familiar with KEP Marine.  What products do they provide and how do they fit into Sparton?

KEP Marine is a provider of display technologies for nautical marine customers with specific requirements in Sunlight Readable and Pilot House Displays, Glass Bridge Displays, Bridgeview Monitor Management, Marine PC’s and Multimedia Computer Systems, Vessel Monitoring System (IVMS) and Navigation Systems.  KEP Marine will be integrated in to Sparton’s Engineered Components & Products (ECP) reporting segment.  For more detailed information about KEP Marine, please visit www.kepmarine.com.

What does the acquisition mean for the Eatontown, NJ facility?

The KEP Marine business will be carved out from the remaining Kessler-Ellis Products business and relocated to the Aydin Displays facility in Birdsboro, PA as part of post-close integration activities.  In doing so, there is no anticipated impact on customer deliveries.  For more information, please contact Tony Zuccarelli.

Will there be any personnel changes to the staff of KEP Marine?

Key personnel with customer facing responsibilities for sales and product engineering will remain unchanged.  During the integration there will be changes to personnel that were previously leveraged from the Kessler-Ellis parent company.  Accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer service, sales support, and operations will transition to personnel under the Aydin Displays business.  Please visit this page for more details as we get further into integration activities.
