Materials Manager

Sparton, a company who has been recognized several times as a technologically advanced leader in the development and manufacture of multiple electronics products, is conducting a search for a Materials Manager in their Brooksville, Fl facility. This position requires five plus years of directly related experience and an individual who is proactive with strong leadership, interpersonal and communications skills.

The Materials Manager will oversee all activities of the stockroom, including parts and material receiving, distribution and shipping.

Responsibilities Include:

- Plan, assign, coordinate and review the work for stockroom personnel; provide direction to personnel on proper inventory procedures and materials management processes, including reconciliation of cycle counts; provide recommendations to improve processes; follow established company policies and procedures.

- Ensure accurate replenishment and perpetual inventory; resolve inventory discrepancies.

- Prioritize kitting, monitor kit releases, audit kits to maintain trace-ability. Monitor negative inventory on a weekly basis and reconcile discrepancies.

-Review and analyze receiving of goods, cycle count adjustments, goods issued, and transfers internally & to outsourced suppliers.

-Identify and document each critical process such as kitting, goods issue, goods receipt, and cycle counting.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

-5+ years of related experience (stockroom, inventory, materials, preferably in a high mix/low volume environment with several thousand part numbers and traceability requirements) with 2+ years as a supervisor, ideally of 24+ employees; BS or BA degree in related subject or equivalent combination of schooling, certification and additional experience; CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) preferred.

-Communication skills: ability to communicate instructions and establish expectations; ability to ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read and interpret technical publications.

-Math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

-Analytical skills: review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

-Computer skills: Working knowledge of inventory management modules; advanced excel experience preferred.

-Time Management and Organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; planning, organizing and managing time to handle multiple assignments concurrently.

- Leadership skills: remain engaged, proactive and positive even in tough circumstances; own assignments and be fully accountable for their success; align actions, behaviors and conversations to facility priorities.

Human Resources Manager

Develops, implements, and administers policies and programs concerning employment, training and development, employee relations, compensation, employee benefits, safety and health, employee services, organizational development, payroll, performance management, affirmative action and counsel’s senor management on human resource issues.

Responsibilities Include:

- Develop and maintain personnel policies and procedures that comply with State and Federal laws and are consistent with corporate philosophy.

- Monitor compliance to these policies.

- Develop, implement, and maintain an organizational development program.

- Develop, implement, and maintain a performance based management system.

- Develop, implement, and maintain satisfaction indexes and ongoing metric performance objectives.

- Develop, implement, and maintain human resource’s systems that apply to ISO and AS certifications and subsequent maintenance of such systems to assure compliance with internal and external audits.

- Conduct skills assessments, job scopes, and gap analysis on job classifications to assure the facility maintains the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities.

- Perform Area leadership responsibilities for 5S systems.

- Keep up to date on government regulations affecting company policies and human resource practices and implement any changes necessary to keep in compliance.

- Monitor the effectiveness of HR programs and make recommendations to improve effectiveness.

- Establish hourly wage structures, pay policies and performance appraisal programs.

- Make recommendations regarding employee benefit programs and administer such programs.

- Develop and implement Full-Life Cycle recruiting, placement practices, and policies to include “Best Place to Work” Talent Management and Retention programs

- Overall responsibility for hiring, administration of benefits, wage and salary administration, training, welfare, and safety and employment programs.

- Formulate and administer management policies governing employment.

- Develop and oversee facilities cost to administer human resources.

- Keep abreast of new developments in the legal arena.

- Maintain conformity to mandatory laws and regulations regarding employment, wages, hours, etc.

- Handle employee complaints and conflict resolution.

- Assist with company safety and health programs.

- Participate in developing goals and objectives link to company business goals and governing statement of work.

- Provide the necessary training and education to ensure the optimum understanding, utilization of, and compliance with, all human resource programs, policies, procedures, and benefits.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree preferably in business (Human Resources emphasis or major desirable)

- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as overtime, proportions, and percentages.

Lean Manufacturing Manager Deployment

The individual will be a change agent accustomed to implementing a data driven, team-oriented culture with strong roots in manufacturing, expert knowledge in Lean Enterprise concepts, who has built a track record of clear and significant personal impact of Lean transformation in production settings.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Provide effective change management and leadership in implementing the company’s Lean Enterprise strategy.

Mechanical Engineer - Deleon Springs, Florida
Sparton Electronics has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer to support new product development and existing products. Individual will develop designs for low-cost, high-volume products. The job includes the mechanical design of die-cast, injection molded, and stamped parts. Knowledge of mechanisms, assemblies, hermetically sealed containers, and electronics packaging is needed. Candidate must be able to support designs with analysis and calculations including tolerance analysis and stress. Candidates should also be comfortable with hands-on assembly, occasional machine shop work, and product verification testing. Position requires experience in generating design documentation, writing technical reports, and participating in presentations.

Position requires a BSME with a minimum of 4 years of experience. Individual must have excellent communication and writing skills and be capable of interfacing with customers at a technical level. Individual must show high initiative, be self-motivated, and have the ability to act independently to resolve issues on technical matters. This position requires a proficient user of SolidWorks 3D modeling and MS Office applications. Some travel will be required.
