Jim Lackemacher serves as Vice President and General Manager of the Sparton Defense and Security division. In his role, Jim leads the division’s strategic direction by providing multiple products into the defense and commercial channels. Previously, since joining Sparton in 1998, Jim has held numerous senior leadership positions in engineering, program management and business management.
Prior to joining Sparton, Jim served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1998 after a successful career. During his Naval career, he gained extensive experience directing all aspects of personnel, material, and mission readiness. He served in numerous leadership positions on several naval warships, as well as most recently holding a significant role at the Mine Warfare Program Office.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, a Masters of Science degree in Physics from the Naval Postgraduate School, in Monterey, California, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
