Sparton Corporation Releases Annual Meeting Summary

(JACKSON, MICHIGAN) - November 12, 2008 - At its Annual Shareowners' meeting today, Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider Sparton Corporation (NYSE:SPA) announced the results of the voting for the election of directors.

At its meeting today, shareowners reelected directors Mr. Joseph J. Hartnett, Mr. Richard L. Langley, Mr. William I. Noecker and Mr. Douglas R. Schrank each to three-year terms expiring in 2011. In addition, the appointment of BDO Seidman, LLP as independent auditors was ratified.

At the annual organization meeting of Directors held immediately after the Annual Meeting, the Board of Directors approved the new committee assignments and related chairpersons. At that meeting, the Board also elected David P. Molfenter, former Lead Independent Director, as Chairman of the Board for the ensuing year.
